  • Hiya, Sandra.

I understand that you're going to be inactive for the next few weeks because of school, but I'll drop my message here, anyways.

About out current music genre listed for International Super Spy, you should be informed that hip jazz is not an actual music genre. The "hip" is used to describe the jazz genre, in the description. It's practically an equivalent to using the term strings groovy jazz, toe-tapping jazz, or cool jazz, and all the like.

The hip jazz mention is found on the official ISS press release, so I can see why the article author would make that mistake.

In the instance of an adjective being paired with a genre, I can name the examples of psychedelic rock and alternative rock. An instance of when a unique music genre is used is the ABBA-modeled roller disco, from Robot Rampage.

The only distinct genre mentioned for any ISS description was simply "jazz," although, I do recall a "swing jazz" genre being mentioned, but I cannot find the source.

I will now remove all mention of "Hip jazz" from the ISS-related articles. I just hope a certain someone does not take petty offense to this, like he/she did with the when the word "unfinal" was touched. If you have any input, give me a ring.

    Ciao! ^_^

  • Should we make an article for the character in the painting on the left?

  • I've finally created portable infoboxes for the episode and role pages! They look great and are much easier to customize, but there's one problem: image width can't be adjusted. This means that any tall images will cause the infobox to be much longer than the page content (only role pages have this issue; all episode title cards are naturally wide and don't have to be edited). According to Community Central, the only way to change a portable infobox's image width is through CSS, and it changes the size of every infobox (not just one on a specific page).

In order to work around this problem, we'll need to turn any taller images (ones that aren't close to a square shape) into files with larger widths. The only exception will be on pages with a lot of content (which is not a very large amount). I've done this with the Henchman Tyrone and Baby Tyrone images by adding more space on the sides. It's a simple and easy fix, but a somewhat time-consuming task. I just need to know: are you okay with the infobox change?

    • Sorry for not responding sooner! I'm okay with the infobox change, and the width issue seems like it won't create too much extra work.

  • I personally believe that Harvey, Old Paint and Pal should be considered recurring characters (the wiki's only criteria for being a recurring character is an appearance in more than one episode). They aren't already categorized as such because their names aren't stated in Polka Palace Party. I don't think this should matter at all (especially considering similar cases, like how Sherman is never identified in Attack of the 50 Foot Worman). Let me know what you think.

    • I understand what you are saying, so I won't object to the horses' reclassification as recurring characters. However, if anyone else disagrees with this choice, then we'll have to start a community discussion. I wouldn't want for this to end up like the Boinga/other aliens confusion from a few years back!

        Loading editor
    • Certainly! I'll change the categories in a while.

  • Let me know what you think of Tyrone/Images/Season 1. I was thinking we could have five gallery pages for each character (one for each season, and a "promotional images" page). It'll definitely help restore order to the wiki. If there's anything you think should be changed, just say so!

      Loading editor
    • I guess it's a little easier to navigate than the separate pages, so I won't object to it. It'll take a lot of work to change all five characters' galleries to follow that style, though.

  • Hi Pablor. I approved your request, and I'm here to help.

Let me know what you want to do for a new background image, and please link me to any image(s) that you want to be used.

For the main page, let me know if you have any ideas about anything you think should be added or removed. For what it's worth, I think the page looks good as is, assuming you periodically update the content of the Featured sections. The only obvious change I would suggest is adding some padding to the sections to insert some space between them, so that the blue borders aren't all touching each other like it appears now.

If you want to keep the Featured Video section, I would suggest increasing the size of the video to reduce the amount of empty space in that box. You can go up to 680px and still have it fit nicely.

Another idea, if you guys are active in chat, is to add the chat module to the main page. You can do that by simply inserting <chat /> where you want it to appear. The module is only 300 pixels wide, so if you decide to use it, I would highly recommend putting it somewhere on the right column.

    • The background on the preview looks really good! I think we're going to keep the current page transparency, so no changes are needed. Thank you so much!

    • Cool! You can get the background image from here whenever you're ready. Oh, and the background color to enter on the theme designer (for main and middle) is #0c6b35.

  • Backyardigans - 15 - Surf's Up24:20

    Backyardigans - 15 - Surf's Up

This is the second episode TreehouseDirect made available internationally, after Polka Palace Party.

I have once again returned to the wiki with a proposal for a new section on episode articles! My idea? The "Video" section! We should take advantage of the videos from TreehouseDirect and put them on each and every episode page. There's no chance that they'll be removed for copyright like most other 'Full Episode' videos because they're official. And besides, since they're official, shouldn't we have them on the wiki anyway?

I'm sending this same message to BackyardigansKaibigan, because we should all agree on this before adding (or not adding) the section. Bye for now!

P.S. If we were to add the section, the only problem would be that the first 13 episodes on TreehouseDirect still aren't available anywhere but Canada. We'd use the Official Backyardigans versions instead for those.

Thank you once again for granting me administrator rights! Wish me well in college! (Who knows? Maybe one day, you'll see my name listed in the credits of a movie... and if you want to see me, just make sure to buy the DVD and watch the Special Features... or listen to the audio commentary!)

Anyway, see you later! Thanks again!

    ~Christopher

P.S. If you would still like to chat with me one more time, I might be able to do that this evening. Even so, I will have to go to bed early... but I just wanted to offer. It's been fun...

    • Thank you for accepting the title of administrator! It was during a tough time and I really appreciated having someone to look after the place. If I spot your name during end credits of a movie, I'm so gonna order the DVD! I'd love to support whatever projects you may do in the future.

As to the chatting, I'll be around for two more hours, which I hope lines up with your plans!

Have a great time in college!

  • Just for a nostalgic look back...

Last night, I watched The Heart Of The Jungle with my Mom, on my Polka Palace Party DVD. During the song "It's Drizzling, It's Pouring", I remembered the very first edit I ever made here:

I added the last line of lyrics:

All: "Who knows where we'll float with a leaf for a boat in the rainy and watery damp?"

It kind of astounded me that song page didn't have that last line, so I took care of that! And... as they say, 'the rest is history', right?

    • Whoa, when Babysitter (a retired admin) created that page in 2010 it was full of misheard lyrics! I'm glad you noticed those problems so long ago!

I decided to look at my own first edit (aside from the pre-created pages that Wikia used to make you set up when creating a wiki) and it was uploading Pablo.jpg, because he's been my favourite forever! It's not as unexpected as your first edit, though.

  • Are you the only one with that card on your profile. Can everyone get a card? On the BG wiki, we have this admin who creates guppy cards for people. Do people get Backyardigan cards on here? Sorry if my question is a burden, I'm just curious.... Did you make that or did someone else?
