Swing-Along Type Amusement park ride Location Nickelodeon Universe Kings Island (2006-2009) Opening date 2011 The Backyardigans Swing-Along is a swing ride at the Nickelodeon Universe theme park. The ride features five statues of each Backyardigans character in the garden area around it. A ride of the same name was also located at the Kings Island theme park until 2009. History The Swing-Along at Nickelodeon Universe originally opened in 1992 as the "Kite-Eating Tree". It was rebranded and given a Backyardigans theme in 2008 as part of Nickelodeon Universe's grand opening. The Kings Island version opened in 1992 as "Pixie and Dixie's Swingset". It was rebranded in 2006 and kept a Backyardigans theme until 2009, when the ride was renamed "Charlie Brown's Wind Up".
